I discovered this beautiful Dupioni silk in a quaint little fabric shop and immediately fell in love. The fabric's unique slubs and stunning shade of blue provided the perfect opportunity to create something truly exquisite. For this design, I started with the bodice of a 1930s dress for the basic shape. Beyond that, the final piece took on a life of its own as I designed it along the way, which is my usual process. I adore puffy sleeves, and Dupioni silk is perfect for them as it naturally holds its structure. The buttons down the back add an extra touch of character to complete the look.
